Jan. 26th, 2004 04:32 pmI went to see Return of the King again last night. It's such an amazing, beautiful film, all the more so on the big screen. My second time through I was able to focus more on the cinematography and just how artfully done it is. Damn comps and it keeping me from seeing Return of the King more.
I went with August and Des and Erica. When we left the theater, it was snowing. Yea!, snow. And this morning there was fresh powder and as I tromped through it on the way to class, it made ripples. Yea!, snow ripples.
I had a comps group meeting today. It was kind of encouraging. Serena Zabin is enthusiastic about my comps: she said if it's carried off well, it will be fanatistic and that if I fall down, at least it will be a dramatic fall. Then Gregg, a guy in my group, started analyzing the metaphors she used as she spoke, and it turns out she had described it both as falling forward and falling on ones back.
It's actually rather worrisome as praise goes. In any case, I am supposed to produce 25 pages by the Friday after next. For those of you keeping track at home, that's 18 pages in 11 days.
