So, life. I don't do much. I read, sleep, watch Buffy, walk, check lifejournal and email and caucus, and search for jobs and write applications, in approximately that order. The most challenging thing I've done lately is to make a better template for my resume so that things come out properly aligned (it wasn't a challenge). My knees hurt because I spend too much time walking around on concrete and I don't have so much cartilage left in one of my knees anyway--I need to find some walks near here that aren't paved. The back of my mouth occasionally hurts because my wisdom teeth are growing in, not even in an advil way, just a dull ache sort of way. I should probably have them removed sometime in the next six months. I don't have dental insurance, though, so I'm waiting.

Linda, my step-mother, who is a life coach, gave me three assessments as a graduation gift. That means I took three tests about my abilities and preferences and then we get back personalized 16 page reports and talk about them. The most recent test that we went over was a career preferences test and I came out "uninterested" or "least interested" in all of the six categories except "creating and enjoying art", where I was average. It was discouraging and I said as much to Linda. Linda keeps talking about "embracing my gifts". I know I have gifts, I'm just not so sure anymore about how they relate to the job market. Now Linda's sent me a very long email and I don't know how to respond.

OK. Off to buy rum to make myself orange-rum cake. I wanted orange cake yesterday and that's the only non-vegan recipe for orange cake in my cookbook collection.
