(no subject)

So I've been without internet access for about a day and a half because I terminated my subscription to Time Warner Cable internet. They've caused enough problems in my life and in any case I won't need much more internet access in my apartment because (drum roll please!) I'm moving to Washington DC. I've decided to accept the job.

I flew back home to California today and I'm writing from Linda's office. The sound of my father and his music buddies working their way through a new piece of (chamber) music on the floor below, talking at each other and keeping time, feels very familiar even though I've been gone so long.
