Dec. 28th, 2005 09:11 pmI must have been a good girl this year. When I went down to the valet service place in response to my notice that I had recieved mail, I was rewarded with a pile of 6 boxes of holiday gifts. Some of them were, not coincidentally, book-shaped, so I piled them up with my hands on the bottom and then held them in place with my chin for the trip back up the elevator. Yay for giftees! I now have a lot of new books, and the Serenity DVD, and lovely music by Meredith Bragg and the Terminals, and two canisters of Republic of Tea (Kiwi Pear Decaf and Wild Berry Plum Decaf--yum), and a huge Costco sack of black forest dried shiitake mushrooms and other things besides. I'm still not really used to the whole extravagance of Christmas. I'm not really certain I believe it's all for me. I got 6 pairs of socks! I know it's a standard practice for people to complain when they get socks or underwear or shirts under the Christmas tree, but I'm totally not used to a holiday where I can just request that someone else go out and buy my socks or barrettes for me. Going out to buy socks has always been an errand (not that it's been an errand that I've been on lately to judge by the state of my old socks) and now it's an errand that someone else is willing to do for me.
Lately, I've been down in the dumps and unable to focus, but I have a solution that some of you may be hearing from me about..
Also, I am watching Disc 5 of Veronica Mars Season 1. It is getting astoundingly good.
