Happy Passover...
Apr. 12th, 2006 08:41 pmI'm such a disappointment to my relatives who care, with varying degrees of passion and venom, that Judaism is passed on and are always so hopeful that I might be going to a seder. If it were easier, if I didn't have to devote hours of time to it, I might do some surface stuff. Guilt: it's traditional. But to even do the surface stuff, I'd have to spend whole hours, even chunks of hours, at seder or in synagogue, bored out of my mind when I could be at home reading.
When I talk with my grandparents, I'll probably make the defense that I'm reading Cynthia Ozick. Does that count?
