So I spent the first two-thirds of the book thanking J. K. Rowling for her incredible imagination and for getting Harry out of his book 5 teenage snit. It was highly satisfying that he had finally learned some Hermione-like intelligence and observation--from Hermione. It was also highly satisfying that Dumbledore had gotten over his fear of mentoring Harry. And then came the chapter about the Horcruxes, which was wonderful because it went into so much detail about the source of Voldemort's immortality and joined the threads of the other books together so well. I'd never expected we'd get so much explanation for the events of Book 2.
As for the last third of the book, my jaw was on the floor for most of it. I really want to read Book 7. It will be fascinating to see a Harry Potter book that takes place so much outside the context of Hogwarts.
