I've been listening to Weezer and Everclear all day, after hardly listening to them at all for the last two years. Something feels queasily teen angsty. Radio show tomarrow might be interesting.
My plans for tomarrow: Going to the history office to talk to profs about where I should be going with my comps topic. Radio show, 10:30-12:00. Taking a trip to Olaf for a book for my seminar paper, theoretically available at Carleton but not on the shelf. Back to the history office, to talk with Diet about prospects for my seminar paper. Fascism. Dinner. Then, spending the night in Sayles-Hill watching the Arnold Schwartenegger become the governator of my state. Some California resident was quoted in the St. Paul Tribune saying that "Arnold was the best body-builder, the best actor, and now he'll be the best governor." The logic, I tell you, the logic. The governor of California has very little power and Sch.'s plan to audit the state is a little strange when you consider that 85% of the state's spending is mandated. I suppose the two things that bother me the most about the recall are that (1) it's highly undemocratic and unfair (Davis has only been in office nine months. The people of California had voted for him very recently.) and (2) it makes California the laughing-stock of the nation, not to mention the world.

I've been following the news sporadically, so I don't know if this is old news or what, but I've read allegations that some of this companies, including Enron, manufactured the crisis to promote more deregulation.
