I have housing! Wonderful housing! In a very convienient location, with a very quiet roommate, with lots more space than I would have had otherwise! I win! I'm going to be living in the living room area of a one bedroom apartment. For those in the know about the DC area, it's in one of those bulky, three-pronged apartments that surrounds Pentagon City mall. My commute is going to be a ten minute walk to the metro, plus a probably eight minute metro ride to work! Fizzgig! The room itself is blocked off and made into its own room by the addition of these styrofoam insulation boards. The disadvantages are noise limitations (because of the boards) and the obligation I'm going to feel to be super-clean outside of my room, but those are nothing in comparison to the disadvantages of all of the other places I was looking. The other (heh) is that I haven't yet been accepted by the company that owns the building, and if they make their judgement call based on my pay stub alone, they probably won't accept me..however, if they have half a brain in their heads and look at the other material I'll present them with, they will.

Last night I went to see Star Wars after visiting the housing situation. It was better than expected. As I recently observed in response to one of macerio_dante's posts, this is a wonderful year to be a science fiction and fantasy fan, what with Star Wars, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Serenity, the Harry Potter book, the Harry Potter movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and, if you're me, the new New Frontier book.

Now on to figure out how I'm going to get a moving vehicle...

Wai! Wai! That sounds fantastic Emmy! . . . Can presume that this is about equally close to GW? Abra tells me that I should have about 1 day a week off, so hopefully I should be able to see you a decent amount . . .

It's certainly not within walking distance, but via metro it's four stops away on the blue line, and if you ever have the opportunity to leave and have dinner, from my work both of us should be within walking distance of nummy Indian food in Georgetown.

Goodness! When are you going to be in town? July 1st-ish? Let me know, but otherwise, yay!

Yay!!! I'm so happy for you! I hope it works out well, and you'll be a lot closer to us. Sorry we couldn't get together today, but that's life.
